DOCTORS4U PATHOLOGY

Welcome to our Doctors4U® Pathology Enlarged listing.

We have taken this Enlarged listing to help you, by explaining in a little detail what Pathology is. And how Pathology testing can assist your Doctor in obtaining an accurate diagnosis of diseases. You may also see more details of our services on our Web site:

So what is Pathology?

Pathology is a scientific study of disease processes. Specialists perform a very broad range of tests using the latest equipment and various procedures. Testing assists your Doctor to make an accurate diagnosis of some diseases early. Also testing maybe used to monitor the progress of a disease or just your INR if on Warfarin therapy.

Most tests are done by blood or a urine sample, or on tissue obtained surgically. In some cases special tests may need to be carried out on secretions or body tissues.

Often patients may require regular repeat testing over a prolong period. For example if on Warfarin therapy you will need to have regular testing and monitoring and your Doctor will inform you of the need and the procedures to adopt.

You may ask - What are the risks in having a blood test?
Well, rest assured you cannot contact any contageous disease from a blood test. All needles and syringe tubes are completely sterile and are discarded after use. Safety precautions are observed and all staff is fully trained in various techniques so as to keep any discomfort to a minimum.
