My feelings on why we need our own domain/s and Web site

Times have changed - have you?

Are you making full use of the Internet?
It's time to now join the super highway!

Maybe you feel you should have your own web site and you're looking to decide on a good domain name for your business?

You have come to the right place because being here can be of great benefit to you providing, you make the right decision now!

Are you are looking for a domain name that reflects your business?

As you may appreciate having a domain that reflects your business can be very important!

It is of great benefit if your domain name reflects what your business is about. For argument sake. If your business is real estate you certainly wouldn't want a domain like " jgbrownsales " or " joebrown.com". Because this would have nothing to do with the focal point of your web site. That is of course unless jgbrown or joebrown was a well known name say, like Coca Cola.

You need to decide on a name that will display to the community what your business and web site is about . For example a name like propertysales4u.com immediately displays to people what your business and site is about!

Another example housesales.com or landsales4u.com -

Also very important -
Always where ever possible decide on a Domain Name that Contains Your Web Site's Keywords!

Keywords are so very important to help your site be easily located on the world wide web!

Be sure to decide on a domain name that contains your most important keyword phrase because many of the Search Engines place great reliance on them.

A keyword phrase is two or more words that best describes your web page. If your web page is focusing on property sales or land sales, your best keyword phrase will be " property sales" or " land sales."

If your main focus is on house sales your keyword phrase would be
" house sales " Make sense?

Remember, when anyone goes to a search engine to find real estate they are not going to put in jgbrownsales! They will put in house sales, land sales or similar!

You maybe saying, well I already have a domain name and a web site called jgbrownsales.com. How can I now change to a domain that reflects my business more and yet still retain my old one?

Easy! All you need do is point your new domain like housesales4u.com to jgbrownsales.com and you get the exposure of both! As easy as that!
Also If possible, always choose a Domain Name that people will easily remember.

Millïons of web sites are existing on the Internet, so it is also very important to choose a domain name that will be easily remembered. As in the examples above - propertysales4u.com - housesales4u.com - landsales4u.com are all easily remembered because they contain the most relevant keyword phrases and most importantly they describe your web site in precise detail. They are the perfect domain names for real estate.

Select your Domain Extension
Another consideration is the domain name extension. My first choice would be a dot.com. There are many new domain extensïons available, dotcom is still probably the best choice. These are naturally becoming less and less.

When putting in a web address, people usually type in a .com extension, even in preference to a .com.au . This is probably because dot.com has been around since the commencement of the Internet however, there are still many other good extensions available. E.g. dot.net. dot.info.dot.biz And now of course with mobile phones being able to connect to the internet mobi. has been released.
