ALICE SPRINGS HOSPITAL | | ROYAL DARWIN
HOSPITAL |
| WANT A LISTING HERE? |
Alice Springs Hospital (ASH)
is the Regional Base Hospital of the Central Australian Region covering
a one million square kilometre catchment area. The Hospital provides
a range of services not normally seen in a hospital of its size,
yet essential for the diverse and scattered communities it serves.
The Hospital provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic
services for both inpatients and outpatients.
The Hospital has secondary roles in staff education and training,
research and health promotion, and in contributing to the regional
development of health services.
For reasons of geographic isolation, Alice Springs Hospital provides
full-time and visiting specialist medical services beyond the level
usually provided by hospitals of similar size in towns closer to
major cities.
There are both Specialist Medical Officers and Resident Medical
Officers in all fields. Visiting specialists service the hospital
in the areas of Cardiology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Plastics,
Oral Surgery, Pain Relief, Dermatology Rehabilitation, Paediatric
Orthopaedic, Urology and Paediatric Surgery.
Their Mission Statement is "Australia's central hospital is
committed to all people needing our services.Through the dedication
of our staff we deliver quality care that is compassionate and progressive."
